Who is Black Midi and why is everyone calling them “the best band in London?”

Hardcore music types in the English capital can’t stop talking about Black Midi, a group that some are saying is “the best band in London.” Problem is, we know almost nothing about them. Even the British music media has been left chasing ghosts.

Here’s what we do know:

• They play an intricate sort of guitar-based math-rock.
• Their drummer is ASTOUNDING.
• Their names are Geordie, Morgan, Matt, and Cameron. They’re all from Selhurst in Croydon.
• Not a single official track is available anywhere online.
• Half of the songs they do play don’t have titles.
• Their Facebook page offers nothing. They have no other social media.

At the moment, all we have are word-of-mouth reports and some serious secrecy which is driving their popularity.
