Who Will Win The Black Keys’ Lo/Hi Madness?

March 28, 2019 may be the official start of baseball season, but Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney of The Black Keys are clearly still in b-ball mode. They’ve partnered with the good people at Spotify on a fun project that will hopefully determine the national champion of their music catalog.

To participate in “Lo/Hi Madness”, simply go to TBKMadness.WarnerBrosRecords.com and connect with a Spotify account. 32 songs have been “seeded” from all eight of The Black Keys’ studio albums – Simply click on the one in each pairing you think would win in a hypothetical matchup. Unlike most office pools that require you to fill everything out, The Black Keys are giving fans a day to think about which of their tunes are worthy of Elite Eight status.

In the meantime, a playlist is generated of your choices for immediate streaming, so everyone wins! Maybe once the ultimate song is crowned superior over all others on the 31st (“Lonely Boy” is my Duke, if anyone cares), The Black Keys will indulge us with details about a new album to go along with the Let’s Rock tour this fall with Modest Mouse so that they can do this again next March!

Gilles LeBlanc

Gilles LeBlanc literally fell into “alternative rock” wayyy back at Lollapalooza 1992, where he got caught in his first mosh pit watching some band named Pearl Jam. Since then, he’s spent the better part of his life looking for music to match the liberating rush he felt that day, with a particular chest-beating emphasis on stuff coming out of his native Canada. It took him awhile, but Gilles now writes feverishly about all things that rock (and or roll) through his ROCKthusiast alter ego.
