Who Sings The Anthems At The NBA All Star Game? And Sting? Seriously?

With a huge lineup of events in Toronto this weekend for the NBA All Star Weekend, the names chosen to sing the national anthems before Sunday’s game were not terribly unsurprising. The CBC is, naturally, on top of this. (You can read more about the events here.)

Canadian pop star Nelly Furtado once sang about Big Hoops. On Sunday, she’ll be singing alongside them as she performs the Canadian national anthem before the NBA All-Star Game in Toronto.

Ne-Yo will perform the U.S. national anthem at the event at the Air Canada Centre.

Montreal acrobatic troupe Cirque du Soleil will perform before the player introductions. Sting will headline the halftime show that night. F**kin’ Sting! And you thought Coldplay at the Super Bowl was weird.

Drake, of course, has already been everywhere. The Globe and Mail has a great story on Drake’s Toronto ambassadorship here.

The 65th NBA All-Star Game coverage begins at 8:00 p.m. ET on TNT in the U.S. and on Sportsnet ONE and TSN in Canada.
