Why Is This Factory Thriving Making Cassettes?
Cassettes are a hateful technology. They had their time and place but now deserve to be forgotten like the 8-track and the wax cylinder. Yet there are some misguided romantics that want to bring cassettes back into the mainstream. Hey, if it worked with vinyl, right?
Sadly, these Ludditie hipsters are having some success. There’s at least one cassette factory that’s working flat out.

It’s very simple. Use High Bias tapes for dubbing, find a decent walkman on Kijiji or Craigslist, clean the heads with rubbing alcohol, invest in expensive headphones…and you’ll have a listening medium that’s far superior to an iPod
Oddly, I feel the same way about Alan Cross’ career.
