“Why modern music is so awful.”

If it hasn’t happened already, at some point in your life you will wonder what happened to music. “Why is today’s music so bad? What’s wrong with kids these days.”

Totally natural. It’s the cycle of life. Every generation hates the music of the generation that comes after them. Every generation has a biological right to believe that the music of its youth is the greatest music of all time. It’s been this way for centuries.

But hang on. Maybe today’s music is shit. And this video explains why. (Thanks to Jeff for the link.)

I had a brief discussion about this with someone. He maintained that people are comfortable with todays shitty music and don’t want change. I’m betting people do, the silent majority, if packaged in the right way

I am people. And, I would love to see change. Today’s music is horrible, and mastered way to loud. Listen to any of it on an audio system worth anything and you just cringe.

It all sounds the same these days and record companies can’t risk loosing = same crappy music. They’re sticking to what works. The timbre has fallen cause everything is produced on a computer. A real instrument like a Fender goes out of business cause you can get the same guitar sounds from a computer. Why bother playing a real instrument? Now that record stores are gone, at some point small instrument retailers will go too. As Rush foretold in 2112, “What can this strange device be? When I touch it, it gives forth a sound. It’s got wires that vibrate, and give music. What can this thing be that I found?”

I love all kinds of music from the 60ies to the early 2000s. After that more than 90% of all music became garbage. No creativity, no soul, no nothing…

Music today is absolute mindless garbage. It is not an art form but merely testosterone fuelled verbal diarrhea. Slurred words, repetitive computer generated beats which do nothing to ignite the spirit or soul. How sad to live in a world with a generation incapable of creating or recognising the rewards that quality music brings the individual and society. Wake up people!!!
