Wife of Weezer’s bass player involved in shoot-out with cops. She’s now charged with attempted murder
Say it ain’t so.
Just hours after it was announced that Weezer would be a last-minute addition to this year’s Coachella line-up, there was a wrinkle. Okay, a little more than a wrinkle.
On Tuesday afternoon (April 8), the LAPD were notified of a hit-and-run involving three cars in the area of Eagle Rock in Los Angeles. Reports were that three people fled the scene into the neighhourhood. This, at worst, is some of kind of misdemeanour in California.
When they arrived, cops saw a suspect running to the back of a house in the 1200 block of Waldo Place. When they circled into the backyard, they confronted a woman with a handgun. It was 3:25 pm.
She refused multiple orders to drop the gun. When she pointed the gun at the cops, they fired, hitting her in the shoulder. She then ran into the house but soon came out with a woman identified has her babysitter.
The woman received medical attention and was arrested. She’s been charged with attempted murder. Cops have also determined she was not involved in the hit-and-run, which confuses things somewhat.

The woman has been identified as Jillian Shriner, 51, the wife of Weezer bass player, Scott Shriner, and she has quite the backstory.
Jillian is a writer and–get this–a former call girl for Jefri Bolkiah, the Prince of Brunei. (You can read about all that in her memoir, Some Girls: My Life in a Harem.) She’s also written several other books, including a true crime book on serial killers.
Jillian is out on bail. The one suspect in the hit-and-run has been found while the other two suspects have not been located.
