Winds Tear the Roof Off U2’s Recording Studio

They’re having a rough winter in Ireland, too.  Heavy wind and rain conspired to tear off the eastern part of the roof from U2’s recording studio on Grand Canal Quay in Dublin.

The fire department was called around 6pm Monday which closed off the roads in the area until everything could be secured.

No one was in the studio at the time and there’s no word on the extent of the damage.

Meanwhile, the U2/Bank of America Super Bowl giveaway of the song “Invisible” has netted $3 million USD.  BoA pledged to give $1 for every download in a 36 hour period to Project (RED).

As for the new album, it’s been pushed back to June.  It still doesn’t have a title, either, although the band says they’re getting comfortable with its working title.
