Winners of Nordic Prize (Scandinavia) and the Meteor Prize (Ireland) Announced

Canada has the Polaris Music Prize. The UK’s version is the Mercury Prize. Now we have 2015 winners from two other countries.

Meet Mirel Wagner, winner of the Phonofile Nordic Prize, which seeks to name the best release of the year from Norway, Scandinavia, Finland, Denmark and Iceland. This is from her album, When the Cellar Children See the Light of Day, which is available through Sub Pop.  Cheery title, no? (Via MBW)

Meanwhile in Ireland, The Gloaming were named winners of the Meteor Choice Music Prize for their 2014 self-titled album, which is available through Peter Gabriel’s Real World Label. (Via MBW)
