The Wisdom of Taylor Smith (WAIT! COME BACK! You Need to Read This!)

Taylor Swift is no dummy. You don’t become this successful and this rich without knowing exactly what you’re doing and aligning yourself with some very smart people.

Start with this TechCrunch article cribbed from what Swift (or her ghostwriter) put together for The Wall Street Journal.  In the article, she outlines four music-and-tech things every artist needs to know.  I’ll wait right here until your done.

Finished?  She does make some good points.  I especially like the concept that the selfie is the new autograph.  However, Vox.com shoots back, saying that Ms. Swift has no concept of supply and demand.

The Wall Street Journal just published an amazing essay from Taylor Swift, in which she argues that the music industry is not dying, but in fact “just coming alive.”

Based on this piece, there are many reasons to believe that Taylor Swift has not been paying very much attention to the music industry.
