WTF?

Woman Claims Bleeding Ears Caused by Concert by UB40. You Heard Me.

Usually hearing damaged is caused by hard rock and metal bands who insist on turning the amps beyond 11. (KISS and Manowar: I’m looking at you.)  But UB40?  What?

Well, reggae bands do like their deep bass.  And if you’ve ever been in the proximity of bass bins backed by sufficient amplification, you’ll know that those low frequencies can have a powerful physical effect.  It can be rather painful.

Such is the complaint of one Anna Webster who says that the bass at a UB40 show in Cambridge literally caused her ears to bleed.  And it took exactly one song for the blood to start flowing.

It’s not known which song caused Anna’s injury, but if your plans to include seeing the band anytime soon, you might want to stand at the back. And wear ear protection.
