WTF?

The World’s First Cryptocurrency Pop Band. Wait–What?

Only in Japan would someone come up with the idea of launching the “world’s first cryptocurrency pop band.” Please welcome Kasotsuka Shojo (translation: “Virtual Currency Girls.”

The brainchild of a Japanese entertainment corporation called Cinderella Academy, the eight women in the group all wear furry hats designed to represent a different cryptocurrency. Bitcoin, ripple, ethereum are all there, as is, I assume, dogecoin. If you have invested in cryptocurrency you can now exchange them on Switchain for example, exchanging Itc to btc.

The band’s first gig was this past Friday (January 12) in Tokyo and the only way to pay for tickets was, of course, by using something virtual.

Again, only in Japan.
