You Know the Guy Who Composed “The Simpsons” Theme? He Was Once on “The Gong Show”

All fans of The Simpsons know that the show’s theme was composed by Danny Elfman, a former member of the weirdo L.A. band Oingo Boingo.  But before they had hits with songs like “Weird Science” and “Dead Man’s Party,” they were known as The Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo and in 1976, appeared on The Gong Show.
