Calling All Metal Guitarists

Do you thrash the daylights out of any guitar you see?

There’s a show looking for you.

Shredders of Metal is back for a second season and is looking for guitarists looking for their big break.

It’s the first music competition solely focused on metal guitar players. From all submissions, eight players will be selected for the opportunity to win a prize pack from ESP Guitars and Marshall Amplifiers worth around $5,000.

Oh, and the honourable distinction of being crowned the Ultimate Shredder, of course.

The second season of the show is set to air on BangerTV, fittingly, this summer and looks to increase the popularity of the first season, which was broadcast in summer 2018 and reached more than a million people.

There’s a new judge this year as well: Ben Weinman of the Dillinger Escape Plan will be joining Sam Dunn and Alex Skolnick.

“As a fan of Banger, my fellow panel judges and ripping guitar, I am beyond honoured to be part of this event,” Weinman said. “I look forward to being thoroughly shredded.”

Interested? Make a three-minute video showing off your skills playing an original song and upload it to YouTube or another video site.

The deadline for entries is March 5 and the competition will take place in Toronto on April 27 and 28 – keep that in mind. If invited to the competition, travel and hotel are NOT covered.
