The Monty Python Reunion Is On

From the We’re Not (All) Dead Yet Dept. comes worth that the five surviving Pythons–John Cleese, Michael Palin, Eric Idle, Terry Gilliam and Terry Jones–will reunite onstage for a one-time-only performance at the 02 Arena in London on July 2, 2014.

Why?  Money, of course.  But officially, the explanation is “to see if we’re still funny.”

The press release says to expect “some of Monty Python’s greatest hits, with modern, topical, Pythonesque twists.” Tickets will go on sale Monday.  Top price will be £95 with the cheapest being £26.

The O2 can hold about 20,000 people so it’ll be interesting to see what kind of rush there will be to get tickets. I think I’ll give it a go.  Hey, wouldn’t it be cool to be in the crowd when everyone screams out “This is an EX-parrot?”
