The Smashing Pumpkins’ (well.. Billy Corgan’s) output from the last few years has been consistently excellent, it’s just been burdened by BC’s unnecessary use of the band name and the continuing problem of ageism in popular music which BC doesn’t seem to be handling very well.
@Blake
I whole heartedly agree with your assessment. I truly thought that this new album was really quite good. But Corgan seems to enjoy going in the media and slamming anyone and everyone. His media attitude reminds me a bit of Jack White. I love White, but he seems to take any chance he can to slam other musicians (notably The Black Keys and Dave Grohl).
Rock music, in general, is in a rough spot right now. Guys like Corgan and White should be trying to work with their contemporaries, not AGAINST them.
