Canadian music sales and streaming stats: 28 February 2022

As the Canadian recorded music industry inches towards the end of the first quarter, here’s a report card on how things are going with both sales and streaming.

Year-over-year figures:

  • Total album sales, -7.0%
  • CD sales, +8.0%
  • Digital albums, -19.5%
  • Digital tracks, -20.6%
  • Vinyl LPs, -4.1%
  • On-demand audio streams, +13.4%

Week-over-week numbers

  • Total album sales, -5.4%
  • CD sales, -10.7%
  • Digital albums, -4.8%
  • Digital tracks, -1.5%
  • Vinyl LPs, +6.3%
  • On-demand audio streams, -3.0% (2.205 billion streams in the country last week)
