Diddy arrested on charges of…well, we’re not sure. But it’s bad. [UPDATE: Yep, it’s bad. Very, very, very bad.]
Sean “Diddy” Combs has been on law enforcement’s radar with suspicions of several things, including human trafficking and sexual assault. Time ran out last night (Sept 16) when Homeland Security Investigation agents nabbed him at the Park Hyatt Hotel in New York City. This came after he was indicted by a grand jury and after some lengthy negotiations over his surrender.
Here’s the indictment. It’s very, very, very bad for Diddy.
This investigation has been going on for a while. Remember when ex-partner Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura accused him of sexual assault and abuse last year? Remember when search warrants were executed against his homes in Beverly Hills and Miami? Remember all those civil lawsuits alleging he raped an underage girl? Remember the allegations of him trying to “groom” a producer? Remember the two other women who filed lawsuits claiming that he abused and assaulted them to the point where one of them was choked out?
There are ten lawsuits in total. One was filed just last week. There’s at least one lawsuit that also names his son. And then there’s US$100 million judgment against him.
He and his legal team say they have nothing to hide and that they’re cooperating fully. Diddy says he’s looking forward to clearing his name in court. A summary of Diddy’s problems can be found here and here.
UPDATE: Diddy has been charged on trafficking, racketeering, and kidnapping charges. TMZ says:
“According to the indictment, from 2008 to the present, members of the Combs enterprise allegedly engaged in sex trafficking, forced labor, interstate transportation for purposes of prostitution, coercion and enticement to engage in prostitution, narcotics offenses, kidnapping, arson, bribery and obstruction of justice.”
Jeezus, Diddy. All that and arson?
The indictment says per TMZthat the whole purpose of Diddy’s business was to not only operate a global musical empire but to “preserving Diddy’s power and fulfilling his personal desires, especially in relation to his sexual gratification, including through the exploitation of women and the use of commercial sex workers.” It goes on to mention some wild parties (“freak off parties”), describing them as “elaborate and produced sex performances that Combs arranged, directed, masturbated during, and often electronically recorded.”
There are recordings? Yes. Blackmail recordings.
These parties could literally last for days. Participants needed IV drips when they were all over. That last sentence is an actual allegation.
More from TMZ: “The indictment alleges Combs lured women into his orbit under the pretense of a romantic relationship and then used force, threats of force, and coercion, to cause victims to engage in extended sex acts with male commercial sex workers.”
Drug use? Oh, yes. Coke, Oxy, Xanax, ketamine, Molly, and GHB (a date rape drug).
What else was found/seized at Diddy’s homes? Thank you for asking.
- 3 AR-15s with obscured serial numbers
- Ammunition
- And, er, more than 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lube. Imagine the person making that delivery.
Another thing to consider. DIddy has famous friends, elites in the music, entertainment, and WHATEVER industries. Did they participate in his freak-off parties? If Diddy goes down, will he take everyone with him? Remember: recordings,
What about the stories and rumours about abuse suffered by Justin Bieber and Usher? Or tales involving JLo? Who else? This could make the R Kelly situation look like an opening act. Diddy has been denied bail because the judge evidently considers him a flight risk. The judge also noted a pattern of obstruction of justice.
Diddy is in jail right now. If he’s convicted, there’s a mandatory minimum of 15 years.
Oh, man. This is gonna be weird.
Geezus…that’s an insane amount of trouble!
