Former RHCP guitarist Josh Klinghoffer has been sued for wrongful death.
Back on March 18, former RHCP guitarist and touring Pearl Jam guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, was out in his GMC Yukon SUV in Alhambra, California, when there was an accident. Making a left turn, he ran smack into 47-year-old Israel Sanchez who was walking across the street at a marked pedestrian crossing. TMZ reported that Sanchez “was dragged across the asphalt as a result of the collision and sustained blunt force trauma to his head, injuries that ultimately killed him only hours later.”
If that wasn’t horrific enough, it was alleged at Josh was on his phone at the time of the accident. Reconstruction of the accident seemed to show that Josh didn’t even touch the brakes before the collision. Oh, and the Yukon apparently had no plates, either.
It was NOT a hit-and-run. Surveillance video shows him exiting the SUV, going over to Sanchez and then returning to get his phone to call 911. He’s been cooperating ever since.
An investigation was launched. And now a wrongful death lawsuit has been filed by Sanchez’s family. The LAPD haven’t laid any charges or made any arrests in connection to the incident.
