Get ready — the punks are taking over West Queen West

Grab the safety pins and the snarled lips, the West Queen West Punk Fest is running rampant Saturday night.

The Forgotten Rebels will headline the show at the newly renovated Parkdale Hall for the event, along with Random Killing and The Ripcordz, two bands that have been among the mainstays of the Canadian punk scene for more than 30 years of touring and albums.

Also on the bill is GFU, a band from the York region that’s gaining momentum in Ontario, in addition to The Liquor Pigs and Atomic Tomb.

All in all, patrons will be pogoing the night away to seven bands — acoustic outlaw Johnny NoCash rounds out the evening — for just $40 or so for the 19+ event. The event is sponsored by Exclaim and See Rock Live Magazine with support from Shacklands Beer and Crazy Monkey Vodka.
