Here’s our weekly look at the CD vs vinyl sales race in Canada.

The year began with vinyl slightly ahead of CDs in the race to sell more units in Canada. Here’s where things stand now.

  • CDs sold in Canada last week: 27,556 (down 14.6% from the previous week)
  • Vinyl sold in Canada that same week: 30,597 (down -22.6% from a week earlier)
  • CDs sold so far in 2025: 59,833 (-11.6% from this point in 2024)
  • Vinyl sold so far: 70,114 (down 10.2% from this time last year.)

Vinyl’s lead: 10,281 units.

Streaming? Here you go:

  • Songs streamed last week: 2,783,220,000 (up 4.9% from a week earlier)
  • Songs streamed for the year: 5,435,678,280 (up 11.5% from this time in 2024)
