Introducing The Awesome Music Project. It’s, well, quite awesome.

Rob Carli and Terry Stuart, a couple of guys from Toronto, are the creators of The Awesome Music Project, a campaign the explores the power of music. Using music-based stories, they’re raising money for mental health and awareness. The Canadian Association of Mental Health is one of their partners.

Come October 10–World Mental Health Day–they will release a book entitled Songs of Hope and Happiness, which features 111 stories from a large group of Canadians, ranging from celebrities (including Chris Hadfield, Sarah McLachlan, and Michael Buble) and regular people (teachers, cab drivers, first responders, etc,)

This trailer does a better job of explaining things.

Along with the book, there will be a series of concerts that will work like this: A storyteller will take the stage followed by someone singing a song that reference some aspect of the story. After the song ends, a neuroscientist will get up and explain what just happened in our brains, Cool, innit?

More details shortly. Watch this space.
