It was 1982 and The Misfits had just finished playing a show in New Orleans. It was late, but no one was ready to go to bed just yet, so the band and a few friends went looking for the grave of Marie Laveau, the infamous voodoo queen of the city.
They knew that she had a tomb in the famous Saint Louis Cemetery. Simple, right? Instead, though, they went to the wrong graveyard. They became understandably confused when they couldn't locate Laveau's final resting place.
Apparently, they made enough noise to alert the neighbours and the cops were called. Some of the group managed to run away but singer Glenn Danzig, Jerry, the bassist, guitarist Doyle Wolfgan von Frankenstein were cornered.

The charge? Trespassing and grave desecration. That meant a night in jail. However, there was the matter of the band's van and equipment trailer, which had been unlocked. It was completely looted before morning, leaving The Misfits with no gear.
What to do? Skip bail, drive to Florida, secure some instruments, and play the next gig.
Here's Wolfgang Doyle Von Frankenstein with the full story.
