Survey

Just in time for the weekend: What’s the most popular band for drinking songs?

Here’s another one of those surveys that are actually a commercial in disguise. But the results are interesting, so I’ll bite.

Flask and Barrel, a whisky retailer, analyzed 23,425 Spotify playlists that referenced either drinking or partying in their title. The goal was to find the most popular songs within that sample, thereby indicating which tracks are best for soundtracking tipples. They felt they could also infer which artist was associated most with those activities.

The winner? AC/DC.

The band appeared on 4,143 playlists that referenced parking and drinking, way ahead of second place Queen (Queen?) who were referenced on 3,512 playlists. AC/DC also showed up a lot in the top 20 of all drinking songs. Here’s the entire list (Via Loudwire)
