Legendary Rock Photographer to Display Work in Toronto

Recognize this shot?  Of course you do.  It’s the cover of the Who’s 1971 album, Who’s Next shot by photography Ethan Russell.

Ethan was around to take shots of a lot of now-iconic rock figures.  The Beatles. The Doors.  The Stones. You’ve no doubt seen many of these photographs in magazines and books and on posters over the decades.  And like the Who shot, many turned up as album artwork.

Russell will bring his Best Seat in the House show to the main stage of the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts north of Toronto on March 1.  He’s bringing 350 photos with him, some never seen before.

Not only will he show off his work, but he has many a story to tell about his encounters with rock royalty. There might even be a question-and-answer session, which would be fantastic for budding rock photographers.
