More Music from the Inbox, 29 May 2013: Maya Wolff, Toy, Starkeeper and More

By Larry Lootsteen

Artist: Maya Wolff, “Through the Letterbox”

Album: N/A

Something about this just caught me and thought I would share.  Maya is also a dancer which is easy to picture while listening to the music.

Sounds like:  Just a dash of Kate Bush

Artist: Toy, “Lose My Way”

Album: N/A

These guys have that great sound that makes UK music such a pleasure so much of the time

Sounds like:  Distorted angst

Artist: Starkeeper, “Find Desire”

Album: Find Desire

This group is from Belgium and I really love their sound.

Sounds like:  Fear and love

Artist: E-Mute, “Clock Moves Forward”

Album: Too Proud To Say Loud

London based and making some real noise in this very busy market!

Sounds like:  A blended UK cocktail

Artist: The Cheap Thrills, “Justice”

Album: Do You Know What I Mean

Liverpool provides another classic.  Interesting and eclectic mix of sonics

Sounds like:  Driving, swerving and ranting

Artist: Ian Skelly, “I See You”

Album: Cut From a Star

First solo effort from the drummer from The Coral.  Great psych soundscape!

Sounds like:  Something brand new recorded decades ago
