New Music from the Inbox: Tennis, Mereki, Sabrina Song, and more!

Artist: Sabrina Song
Song: Down
EP: When It All Comes Crashing Down

Gentle, sincere, and striking pop music. Sabrina Song says: “Down” is a worst-fear song for me. When you fall in love with someone and it’s going really well, they’re entering your life when you’re at your best. This song asks “What happens when they experience me at my lowest? Will they want to stay?” I’m terrified of bringing someone down with me that I care about, and imagine a scenario where all they feel is pity and distance. I’m also afraid of becoming a burden for someone, and would rather “leave them wanting more than getting sick of me,” as I state in the song. I wanted the arrangement to feel somber and stark, with isolated strings rather than a moving symphonic arrangement.” Her new EP is out now!

Artist: Mereki
Song: Presence

Of her magical new pop single, Mereki says: “I’m not saying that I’m enlightened and I live in ‘Presence’ all the time, far from it, I’m just trying to say that I know what it is when I can, and it’s so beautiful. I want to share that with people because I truly believe that when I can pull myself back into the present moment, really ‘be here now’, then everything is so lovely. I want that for me, and for you, and for everyone. My mind gets the better of me all the time and I need to train it not to, and I guess this song is kind of an anthem for that.”
