Okay, So This Guns ‘N Roses Reunion Is Already Starting to Disappoint

The Guns ‘N Roses reunion, the announcement for which is allegedly scheduled for Tuesday and will include word of a Coachella appearance, is already failing to live up to the hype–at least a little bit. Sure, it’ll be great to see Axl, Slash and Duff perform together again. But who else will be in the band? Is this really the “classic” lineup everyone is yearning to see?

Uh, no.

First of all, Izzy Stradlin will not participate. Why? Dunno.

Okay, so what about a drummer? They’ve got two to choose from: Steve Adler, who played on Appetite for Destruction, and Matt Sorum, who replaced Steve after he was fired from the band for being too much into drugs and booze. (Think about that for a second.) Surely one of them is part of this reunion.

Um, nope. Why? Dunno.

So who’s in this band? Axl, Slash and Duff, of course. Then there’s Dizzy Reed (who came on for the Use Your Illusion albums), Richard Fortus (ex-Psychedelic Furs who joined Axl’s version of GnR in 2001) and Frank Ferrer (the drummer for the post-Psych Furs band Love Spit Love who joined up with Axl in 2006).

Not exactly the “classic” lineup we were hoping for, innit?
