Ongoing History Daily: Brandon Flowers’ superstition

If you ever run across Killers’ singer Brandon Flowers, do not under any circumstances bring up the number 621. He is deathly afraid of that number. Here’s why.

When he was a kid, he did something a good Mormon boy wasn’t supposed to do: He started fooling around with a Ouija board. For some reason, he asked when he would die and the board reported “621”—presumably, June 21. This was particularly concerning for Brandon because that’s also his birthday.

Best not bring it up. Or his fear of flying. He’s got that, too.
