Just in case you need a dose of mortality this first day of summer, Paul McCartney turned 82 this week. On the other hand, the man is still touring like a 20-year-old. That does my heart a lot of good–as does bringing you music news for June 21, 2024.

  1. A lot of people are staying away from concerts this summer. Even Pearl Jam is having a hard time selling out.
  2. However, metal festivals seem to be thriving. This one is already selling tickets for the 2025 edition after a successful 2024 event.
  3. The world’s largest record label is helping musicians create their own AI vocal clones. I’m not sure what this means yet.
  4. On that same subject, Google’s Deepmind AI can now generate music for video. It can even compose a full soundtrack.
  5. Meanwhile, there was more discussion on AI and music at a conference in the UK. Can this be regulated? Some people think not.
  6. Will there be one FINAL Black Sabbath show? Don’t count it out.
  7. Radio: Still pretty dominant in the UK.
  8. Liam! That’s so sweet to think of your brother Noel this way.
  9. Noel! That’s a cool thing you did for Manchester City!
  10. Adele! That kid will never forget you.
  11. The TikTok vs. the US Government case will begin on September 16. At stake: If TikTok will be banned in America.
  12. Well, that wasn’t very nice, Post Malone.
  13. But nice one, Ricky Gervais.
  14. Hey, Elon! How are revenues from X coming along? Down, you say? WAY down?
