When I started at CFNY in 1986, I discovered a gigantic trove of music that I had no idea that existed. This is one of the obscurities that I still fancy. 

Fischer Z was an English band formed in 1976.  I think I have just about everything they ever released on CD.  This track, “So Long,” is from their best album, Going Deaf for a Living from 1980.

(I’d play you the original album version but EMI has blocked the video on YouTube.  Why?  God knows…)
