The Juno Awards return for 50th-anniversary event May 16, 2021

After being forced to cancel the Junos this year–sorry Saskatoon–and moving to a virtual sort of thing, CARAS today (Dec 1) announced that the 50th-anniversary Juno Awards will be held in Toronto on May 16. What form those awards will take all depends on the whims of COVID-19. Protocols and practices are in place to make sure the Junos happen in some fashion.

Nominees (a record number, apparently) will be announced in the New Year.

At a virtual press conference today, CARAS unveiled a new award design. Several, actually: a gold one for winners and a silver version for both Special Award recipients and both gold and silver awards for inductees into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.
