The Long List for the SOCAN Polaris Song Prize has been announced

The Polaris Music Prize seeks to find the best Canadian album of the last year without regard to genre or commercial success. We’ll be hearing more about that when the Short List is released next month.

The SOCAN Polaris Song Prize is similar, except that it’s looking for the best Canadian song of the last twelve months. The Long List (nominated and voted upon by the same jury members involved with the original Polaris Prize) is now out.
