The newest K-pop group is 100% AI

HYBE is one of those South Korean companies that’s essentially a factory for turning out K-pop acts. A couple of years back, they acquired Suptertone, a company that specializes in synthetic voices.

The first time HYBE used the technology was with a virtual artist named Midhatt to translate a song into multi languages. Next up is a virtual group called Syndi8. It’s made up of four avatars living in “Nansy Land.” HYBE says the purpose of Syndi8 is to “aim to explore the applications of their technology in the music content business and to cultivate their own voice intellectual property (IP) to demonstrate the capabilities of their creations.”

There’s now a Syndi8 album entitled MVP. Here’s your introduction. Nothing we hear or see in this video is from real humans.
