The story of the return of Billy Corgan’s Gish guitar

Rewind to June 1992. The Smashing Pumpkins had recently issued their debut album, Gish, and were on tour in Detroit. Less than five minutes after the gig at Saint Andrew’s Hall wrapped up, someone walked out with one of Billy Corgan’s guitar, a prized Stratocaster that dated to the early 70s.

A police report was filed along with a no-questions-asked reward of $10,000. Nothing. No one would see that guitar for the next 27 years.

Then it turned up. Watch.
