Survey

These are the greatest driving songs of all time? Really?

Once again we have another British survey that’s actually an advertisement in discuss. But what the hell, let’s look.

Isuzu Trucks, a brand sold in the UK but not in North America, commissioned a study to determine the greatest driving song of all time. They surveyed 2,000 drivers and these are the results. Feel free to discuss this amongst yourselves.

  1. Hotel California, The Eagles
  2. Born in the USA, Bruce Springsteen
  3. Flowers, Miley Cyrus
  4. The Boys of Summer, Don Henley
  5. Livin’ on a Prayer, Bon Jovi
  6. Go Your Own Way, Fleetwood Mac
  7. In the Air Tonight, Phil Collins,
  8. Highway to Hell, AC/DC
  9. Watermelon Sugar, Harry Styles
  10. Shut Up and Drive, Rihanna

Sure. Okay.

More stats:

  • Four of 10 people say they must sing these songs at the top of their lungs.
  • About a third say that they’ve “frightened or startled passengers” with their enthusiasm.
  • Four in 10 would rather sing along with the passengers.
  • The average driving playlist (on Spotify, I guess) contains 44 songs.
