Today is Bob Marley Day in Toronto

Why today and not, say, April 20th?  Because February 6 is the agreed-upon date for Bob’s birthday (There’s some fogginess of this, +/- 2 days.  Surprise.)

The proclamation goes like this:

WHEREAS…the impact of his humanitarian efforts had throughout the world highlighted the direct relationship between music and advocating the greater good of mankind.

NOW THEREFORE, I, Mayor Rob Ford, on behalf of Toronto City Council, do hereby proclaim February 6, 2013 as Bob Marley Day in the City of Toronto.

No doubt there will be a run on snacks later today.

  • There's a natural mystic blowing through the air; If you listen carefully now you will hear.
