Tool is selling a US$500 CD on their tour. Here’s an explanation.

Five hundred US bucks for a 30th anniversary edition of Undertow? Yep. Here’s the story.

First, it’s a limited edition thing with “only” 7,000 copies. All of them are signed by the band, though. The only place to buy a copy will be at stops on Tool’s current tour (which wraps up November 21) as well as stops during the 2024 leg.

And it’s not just a regularly-designed CD, either. Bass player Justin Chancellor served as the art director for the package–and it is pretty cool. (No, Justin wasn’t a member of Tool when the album came out, but never mind.) Wanna bet they’ll see every single one of them? That’s a gross of US$350,000. Not bad.

Here’s an unboxing video.
