Voting is now open for the 2020 Slaight Family Polaris Prize

With Backxwash winning the 2020 Polaris Music Prize this past Monday, it’s time to move to the 2020 Slaight Family Polaris Prize, which seeks to honour albums that were released before the establishment of Polaris in 2006. Think of it as a Hall of Fame-type award.

There are twelve albums up for consideration:

Robert Charlebois & Louise Forestier – Lindberg
Deborah Cox – One Wish
Beverly Glenn-Copeland – Keyboard Fantasies
Great Speckled Bird – Great Speckled Bird
Jean Leloup – Le Dôme
Maestro Fresh Wes – Symphony In Effect
Main Source – Breaking Atoms
Jackie Mittoo – Wishbone
Pagliaro – Pagliaro
Buffy Sainte-Marie – It’s My Way
Jackie Shane – Live
Thrush Hermit – Clayton Park

Two of these records will received designation with a Heritage Prize. One will be a public choice while the other will be chosen by a jury made up of music historians and music media.
