Was a new Guns N’ Roses song leaked via jukeboxes?
Whenever Guns N’ Roses releases a new song, it’s still something of an event.
“Hard Skool” and “ABSUЯD” are already out there via the usual channels. The latest, a track entitled “Perhaps,” was supposed to be released Friday but then all mentions disappeared from Spotify and Apple Music. No explanation has been given.
However, there may have been a leak. TouchTunes is an electronic jukebox company that has machines in hundreds of bars and restaurants. The machine play digital files which are downloaded by each unit from a proprietary site. That site is most likely fed by the same giant library of songs that the streamers use.
Stories from the weekend suggest that TouchTunes may have not received the memo about “Perhaps” being withdrawn from distribution. Patrons of some bars equipped with TouchTunes machine were able to play the song. Any uploads of the song to social media have been ordered taken down by Universal Music.
Oops, huh?
