UPDATE: What Does This Foo Fighters Countdown Clock Mean?
UPDATE: Take another look and listen at the site. Note the changes. New background (Chinese dog is gone and has been replaced by a tree, There’s new music, too, apparently entitled “2nd Century AD.”)
What is it counting down to? I posted this just before 2pm ET on Thursday, October 29. That would put zero hour at midnight ET on November 23. Any clues? (Thanks to Greggory for the link.)
Some theories/thoughts:
- The Foos recently recorded five new songs in Austin whilst on tour. Could it mean a new EP in time for the Black Friday edition of Record Store Day which is set for Friday, November 29.
- Or maybe a full surprise album.
- Or, going back to Black Friday Record Store Day, maybe there’s a box set coming. The band certainly has enough stuff in the vaults.
- A v2.0 of Sonic Highways?
- What’s with the Chinese dog in the image? Is that a clue to something? What about the new shot of the tree?
- More Sonic Highways episodes. Note that FF logo is inside an old-school highway sign.
- It’s not the year anniversary of the Sonic Highways album. It came out November 10 of last year.
- In 1889, the first jukebox went into operation in San Francisco. Naw, that can’t be it.
- Is this the day Dave gets the cast off his leg?
The recorded 5 songs in Austin, Texas. I’m thinking they are releasing an EP! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzd0b9HA3qQ
