What happened to Travis Barker? Why was he rushed to the hospital yesterday? [UPDATED with the answer]

Yesterday morning LA time, Travis Barker was rushed to West Wills Hospital in Calabasas, California, because of an unspecified “health scare.” He was then transferred to Cedars Sinai Medical Centre in another ambulance. As everything was unfolding, Travis tweeted this.

Travis’ 16-year-old daughter, Alabama, posted a picture (since deleted) of her holding her father’s hand as he lay in a hospital bed or a gurney with the caption “Please say a prayer.” Pictures can be found here.

UPDATE: Word is that Travis is suffering from pancreatitis, an inflammation of the pancreas. It usually kicks in very fast, can be very painful and can cause things like nausea and vomiting. It’s not fun. An attack can last for days or even weeks. Some patients even become chronic, meaning that the issue persists for years. Fast treatment is required. Reports that I’ve read say that Travis someone contracted pancreatitis following a colonoscopy. That’s a very rare complication and doctors aren’t certain how pancreatitis can arise from a routine colonoscopy, but they have theories.
