Banger Films to Create Metal Music Festival VR Experience with Wacken Open Air
What if you could take the experience of attending a music festival and turn it into virtual reality? With VR technology continuing to evolve and improve, this shouldn’t seem that outlandish of an idea. In fact, the creators of Metal: A Headbanger’s Journey want to do exactly this with Wacken Open Air, the world’s largest metal music festival.
Banger Films will be at the massive festival to film their latest project: Wacken VR. This fully-immersive metal festival also needs input from fans, so Banger is searching for passionate metal fans attending the festival who are willing to be interviewed.
Director Sam Dunn comments: “Ten years ago we made the first in-depth doc on heavy metal music and cultre with Metal: A Headbanger’s Journey. Well, now it’s time for another first at Banger: Creating metal’s first narrative VR experience. And since metal fans are the heart of metal culture, we need fans to send us their videos and help us tell this story”.
