Because Green Day isn’t enough, Billie Joe Armstrong’s new band The Longshot is releasing music. Listen.

Billie Joe Armstrong has turned into one of the most prolific songwriters of the 21st century. He has just too many songs for Green Day, so he’s created The Longshot as some kind of stress relief valve for his creativity.

So who’s in the band? Billie isn’t saying. “I think everyone should spread as many lies about the Longshot as possible.” But if you do a little digging, you’ll find that the group includes Jeff Matika (he tours with Green Day) along with David S. Field and Kevin Preston.

All we have from the group is The Longshot EP (vinyl only), but a full-length record is on its way…someday.

So what do they sound like? Glad you asked.
