Cool!

Help give these snowplows a musical name

It’s cool when municipalities and cities give cute names to their public utility vehicles. The Scots are especially good at this with the witty names bestowed on its “gritters” (snowplows). Honestly, a truck named “Gritallica” or “Snow Connery” puts a smile on my face.

The City of Hamilton is currently looking to do the same thing. The public is being asked to vote on 20 names for 10 snowplows.

  • Austin Plowers
  • Betty Whiteout
  • Blizzard Wizard
  • Clearopathra
  • CTRL-SALT-DELETE
  • Darth Blader
  • Eugene Sleddy
  • HAMBONI
  • Icekee Wee Wee
  • Mr. Plow
  • Olaf
  • Plowasaurus
  • Plowy McPlowface
  • Spongebob Snowpants
  • Sprinkles
  • The Big Leplowski
  • The Hamilsnownian

Those are all…fine. But there are three musically-themed names also up for consideration.

  • Melton John (Elton John, obviously_
  • Spready Mercury (good for Queen fans)
  • Max Kerminator (in honour of Arkells frontman, Max Kermin)

Me? I’d like to see Max get the honours. Vote here.
