With just a couple of weeks to go before Christmas, here’s how the Canadian recorded music industry is doing, starting with the ugly comparisons between this time in 2019 and today.

  • Digital tracks, -25.9%
  • Vinyl LPs, -10.3%
  • On-demand audio streams, +16.0%

Now let’s compare week-over-week (which includes Black Friday sales).

  • Digital albums, -1.2%
  • Digital tracks, +1/4%
  • Vinyl LPs, +16.0%
  • On-demand audio streams, +3.1% (1.819 billion streams in the country last week)
