The Home of Joy Division’s Ian Curtis is Up for Sale

Yes, THAT house. The home where Ian hanged himself in the kitchen sometime in the evening of May 18, 1980.

Located at 77 Barton Street in Macclesfield–the same house we see in the 2007 film by Anton Corbijn called Control–is on the market for £115,000 (about $220,000 CAD).  This listing reads:

“Situated in a popular and central location, this double fronted character cottage offers spacious accommodation with two reception rooms, two double bedrooms, a good size kitchen and a shared courtyard garden.”

A good six kitchen.
