How to Understand What Muse Is Trying to Say with The 2nd Law

God bless the brainiess of Muse’s Matt Bellamy.  He’s always considering things like conspiracies and the intricacies of both cosmology and quantum mechanices.  And then he writes songs about this stuff.

Muse’s current album is entitled The 2nd Law, which is a reference to the second law of thermodynamics. Throughout the album, Bellamy builds metaphors passed on this basic and unbreakable principle of physics.

If you want to get as deep into the science as Matt needed to, check out this article on the actual second law here.  Once you’re done that, spend half an hour with this doc on the making of The 2nd Law (the band, not the physics principle.)
