HP Settles Lawsuit Involving Dick Size Estimator App Called the “Chubby Checker”

Back in 2006 when Hewlett-Packard was still in the OS and app game, someone thought it would be cool to to release a jokey app that purported to be able to estimate the size of one’s junk by entering in a few personal details. The app was called the “Chubby Checker.”

The actual Chubby Checker–the singer who gave us “The Twist”–was not amused and sued HP for $500,000, saying that the app “adversely affect[ed] Chubby Checker’s brand and value.”

It’s been a long time coming, but the suit has finally been settled.  HP promises to never infringe upon any of Chubby Checker’s trademarks and properties ever again.
