Listen to David Bowie’s “Heroes” in “8D Audio”

I’ve tried been all kinds of audio formats over the decades, but “8D Audio” is a new one on me.

According to Far Out Magazine, “[s]hifting the sound from left to right and back again, 8D music allows the listening to submerge themselves deeper into the sound of the material.”

This apparently started as–wait for it–a thread on WhatsApp and has now spread to a number of songs, all of which are best experienced on headphones.

Okay. I’ll bite.
