New Music from the Inbox: Bela Fleck, Tove Styrke, José González, and more!

Artist: Rorey
Song: Temporary Tragedy
Rorey explains the Temporary Tragedy is about “the cost of self abandonment when you grip intimacy, and what it means to choose yourself. I was waiting in a place someone was never going to arrive, certainly not on the timeline I’d hoped for, and it nearly broke me. Sometimes love isn’t enough to bridge the gap between two people when the other person won’t meet you there. That’s the tragedy.”

Artist: Tove Styrke
Song: Space
Album: The Afterparty
Tove Styrke has a new album coming out this fall. She explains of this new single: “’Space’ is partly inspired by meditation. I wanted to make something that sounds the way that feels to me. The track explores the feeling of being incredibly small in the universe, and how that can feel both lonely and deeply reassuring at the same time. My favourite moment in the song might be the instrumental drum section at the end. I’m fascinated by the idea that you can explore the entire universe by looking inward. We’re stardust. Everything that has ever existed is reflected inside us.”
